Chung Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do

amtasmall
Chung Do Kwan TKD is one of the big four original styles of TKD that was taught in South Korea.  TKD was officially started in the year 1955, but its’ roots can be traced back through Korean history all the way to China.  Chung Do Kwan mixes powerful kicking, punching, striking, and blocking techniques into one of the very best known systems of self-defense ever created!  Mr. Brown emphasizes the “art” in martial arts!  We are not a UFC-type school, although we study everything they use on TV.

We do “light contact sparring” at our school.  That means that we are going to be able to go to school / work tomorrow and not be hurting…too bad.  It is basically going fast, but playing tag.  Mr. Brown’s dojang / school has plenty of water-filled bags, and heavy bags, for full contact bag work.

In the Chung Do Kwan System, we have 24 patterns, or forms, that students must learn to progress through the belt ranks.  Mr. Brown has added a few more basic patterns from the Shotokan System, that simplifies the movements for beginners.

As our students progress through the belt ranks, they start to work on weaponry.  Weapons are used in martial arts as training aids.  Martial arts work both sides of the body, and therefore both sides of the brain, having deep implications for educational learning and brain development in human beings!  As young children study the martial arts, and have worked both sides of their body/brain, Mr. Brown is positive these young children will be better students as they enter the middle level and high school level of education.

Add-in the American wrestling / grappling techniques from Mr. Brown’s history as a wrestling coach and this gives one the complete package for an outstanding system of self-defense!

Haragei Ryu Jukido

jukidosmall
Haragei Ryu Jukido is a blend of Judo, Jui-Jitsu, and Aikido.  Jukido and Kenpo-Jitsu, by definition are both “soft” styles of martial arts that emphasize the use of momentum versus physical strength to apply various techniques.  These techniques will displace our opponents balance and enable one to gain some type of control over our opponent.  This control will be in the form of takedowns, joint locks, escorts or leads, or if justified, other higher impact techniques that will disable our opponent.

In this system of self-defense, students will learn how to do Judo breakfalls, and progress into the smoother “rolling” of Jukido.  One learns how to do forward, backward, and diving rolls, that can save you from difficult situations!

Infinity Self Defense

infinityweb
The Infinity Self-Defense Empowerment Program for women and girls in the 21st Century was created by Mr. Brock Brown and Mr. Dustin Talbot to help empower women and girls of all ages. Why? Mr. Brown has a wife and two daughters, and Mr. Talbot has a younger sister. We want the women in our lives to be safe - simple as that!

The program is presented in a simple two seminar format on two consecutive Monday evenings at Mr. Brown's TKD studio in Fortville, Indiana from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. if that is better for your group.

The seminars cover all aspects of self-defense training for women and girls. The Infinity program stresses COA or circle of awareness training like that taught to skydivers! We have just taken this universal concept and applied it to self-defense empowerment skills for ladies and girls to be more aware of their surroundings and to help you stay out of harm's way.

All you need for the program / seminars is to come prepared:

  • clean tennis shoes
  • sweat shirt and long sweat pants (no shorts please)
  • come with a buddy (bff), friend, or group
  • be ready to work and sweat because this is a hands-on program designed for you to train in state-of-the-art self-defense techniques and situations
